Absence Makeup
Excused Class Absences:
Because grades in a music performance ensemble are in part awarded based on work done in class, it becomes necessary to give our singers a way to makeup those points lost on days when they must be absent. Makeup assignments include reading a small article on some aspect of choral singing, and writing a short, one page reflection paper. Please note that only excused absences can be made up without the prior consent of a director.

On the day immediately proceeding a concert, we review and critique our performance from CD or video tape in class. If you are absent for this assignment, please print out the Concert Critique Makeup form and schedule a makeup time with the video/CD with Ms. Scholz.
Excused Concert Absences:
A significant portion of our work concentrates on several public performances throughout the year. These are vitally important and represent a large portion of a students grade. Please make every effort to know when choir performances are and plan accordingly. If you must be absent from a concert, it must be made up in three weeks or a date that is determined by instructor. Concert makeup requires attendance at a full-length choral concert and the writing of a concert critique. Please see the Student Handbook for more information.
